1987 was the marked year where everything had begun, a formation and promising quality guaranteed civil engineering company, Mawethu Civils, was established by our Directors at the time, who had laid a firm and solid foundation for the future Directors to take the lead.

We’re proud to say that one of our establishing Directors, Mr Ncedile Mbolekwa, stayed with us right to the very end, retiring in August 2018. We’re very sad to see Lekwa go (as he is fondly called), as he gave his best to Mawethu, however he is still very much a part of the family and has offered to assist us from time to time going forward, when he is tired of vacationing.

Christopher Zoetmulder joined Mawethu in 1992, and in November 2003, planted his seed in the heart of the company, taking the stand as Managing Director, and so the journey to bearing fruitful outcomes started escalating, so much so, that Hilgard Terblanche was introduced in 2015; but this was not the end to Mawethu’s excelling expertise, as we welcomed aboard Henry Van Zyl in 2017, all of who are making their mark in the circle of Directors.
